Stepping Stones Projects runs a number of projects for adults with various levels of learning difficulties. At the United Reformed Church, we run a Café where we prepare 3 course meals for customers from the local community. Our aim is to provide a meaningful day experience and teach basic day to day life skills like healthy eating, confidence, decision making and independence.
This projects offers hands on experience for our service users in preparation, cooking, serving and cleaning. Our service users are constantly challenged and exposed to new situations in a controlled environment. Currently 5 in our group have achieved NVQ Level 1 in catering.
